Walking through Brighton at the moment it's not uncommon to find yourself surrounded by a sea of boys sporting waistcoats, tucked in shirts, skinny jeans and old boots. Now I am most certainly not complaining in the slightest, I happen to really like this look but I have noticed recently any Tom, Dick and Harry are jumping on this folky fashion bandwagon and quite frankly I'm disappointed. I used to like seeing the odd quirky dressed guy in town - normally carrying a guitar and looking all nonchalant. But not anymore, now any guy can walk into Topman and come out 10 minutes later looking like they've just stepped out of a folk band. Come on boys, leave it to the guys who can actually play instruments and carry a tune. Like for example, Mumford & Sons, who I happened to see last night at the Brighton Dome. Now there's a group of lads who can carry of a waistcoat and dare I add, even a cravat. Supported by Matthew & the Atlases and Johnny Flynn (who were both a-mazing), Mumford were on top form. The last time I saw them was on a Sunday afternoon at Latitude festival and the sun was shining and I was surrounded by my favourite people with a pint of cider in my hand, so I was a little bit dubious that they wouldn't live up to my already high expectations. However, I couldn't have been more wrong - they played most of their album and a few sneak peeks at future releases and the atmosphere in the whole room was brilliant and I don't think there was a person in the house who wasn't singing at the top of their voice whilst clapping their hands/stomping their feet. They were perfectly styled, wonderfully humble and actually quite witty and I left there with a very sore foot (still bandaged up) and an overwhelming need to play guitar/banjo/accordion. Hey, maybe I could learn and then I'd at least have a viable excuse to wear a waistcoat. Take note boys...
Anyway today's outfit was a bit of a simple one. I was having one of those days when you just grab the first thing you can find and this is what I came up with..
Jeans - Primark
Boots - ASOS
