Today's vintage piece is made and designed by the rather marvellous Miss Amy Phipps. Made from hand dyed vintage linens and recycled yarns, these collars are inspired by Russian Folk artifacts and circus acts from the roaring twenties. They are really quite something and I'm sure you'll all agree they are fabulous, yah? (Said in my best Russian accent).
As well as the collars, Miss Amy Phipps or MAP for short also designs some amazing hosiery - in particular the bow tights which I've got my beedy little eye on. She has also been known to commission vintage dresses so if your looking for a unique vintage piece with incredible detailing, then she is definitely your lady. You can find Amy's designs in many shops round Brighton including Hope & Harlequin and Last Footwear to name a few. Alternatively you can purchase online here.
The colours on the collar I chose to wear today just screamed nautical to me, so I couldn't resist donning a nautical themed frock. Bought from New Look two summers ago, the cute anchor print just works so well with the red and navy stitching on the collar. Team with some brown brogues and a woven gold belt and you've got yourself a look that would get you welcomed onto any Sailors boat I'm sure. Helloooo Sailor.
