Fresh as a daisy.

Ask anyone that knows me and they can immediately tell you of my love for floral prints. They are just so blooming versatile (pun intended). Take any floral dress and you can always style it up for any season. My particular fave is to wear them with bare legs and cute pumps in the summer and then thick tights, a chunky cardi and brogues in the winter. Now there are a lot of preconceptions with floral dresses, a lot of which being described as 'granny' dresses but I couldn't disagree more. I'm pretty sure that every girl I know has a favourite floral dress that they wear over and over again and as far as I am aware none of them look like my Gran. And to be honest it wouldn't be a bad thing if they did. 'Granny Chic' as it is most commonly called is becoming more and more popular and even top designers are cashing it on it. Take Christopher Kanes AW10 show where he took influence from all things W.I and turned it into something beautiful. By mixing leather and floral embroidery together his designs took on a whole new form and came out with something actually rather sexy. Check out this video to see exactly what I mean.

I like to save my favourite floral dress for Sunday best so that's exactly what I've done today. Taking inspiration from Christopher Kane I've teamed it with a lovely vintage leather jacket found in a charity shop a few years back and a nice pair of Mary Janes. It is Sunday best after all...
